In February 2018, Michel Ohayon appeared on the front of the French commercial scene as the savior of declining brands. He presented himself as the re-enchanter of the city centers of France, deserted by the shops. Less than five years later, the disillusion is equal to the hopes, perhaps unrealistic, that he had aroused.
Camaïeu was liquidated in September; Go Sport is in receivership; Gap will soon be, as will Café Legal; the Grande Récré is already under the protection of the commercial court. As for the 22 Galeries Lafayette department stores taken over as franchises in 2018, they will soon be placed under the safeguard regime.
