First joint film project in almost 30 years?

Cameron Diaz returns to the dream factory. In addition to the already finished “Back in Action”, there is apparently also a special reunion.
Hollywood star Cameron Diaz (51) seems to be pushing ahead with her return to the dream factory after a break of around ten years. As the US industry site “Deadline” reports that Diaz is in final talks for a new film project, which would also represent a special reunion – it would be the first film together with Keanu Reeves (59) in almost 30 years.
The project is therefore the Apple production “Outcome”. The director of the black comedy is actor Jonah Hill (40), who will also star alongside Reeves and Diaz. The film is about a “damaged Hollywood star [Reeves, Anm. d. Red.]who has to delve into the depths of his dark past and face his demons, […] after being blackmailed with a mysterious video clip.” Which parts Diaz and Hill will play in all this has not yet been announced.
Dream couple of days long forgotten
In fact, it would only be the second time that the “John Wick” star and the “There’s Something About Mary” actress have appeared together in front of the camera. They celebrated their debut together in 1996 when they played lovers under adverse circumstances in the crime comedy “Minnesota”. Diaz had only celebrated her breakthrough two years earlier with her role in the fantasy comedy “The Mask,” while Reeves had been in the business for much longer at that point.
While Reeves has been very busy in the dream factory in recent years, Diaz decided to take a break after the 2014 film “Annie.” She used the ten year break to concentrate on her family and the star also published two books.
A planned release date for “Outcome” has not yet been communicated. Diaz will definitely celebrate her comeback this year: the action comedy with the appropriate title “Back in Action”, in which she can be seen alongside Jamie Foxx (56), is scheduled to be released in 2024.
