Cameron Diaz was last in front of the camera eight years ago – in the meantime she has fulfilled her dream of the perfect family.

Cameron Diaz (49) is coming back: In 2014, the actress was last seen in a film, the musical adaptation “Annie”, only four years ago she officially announced her “retirement”. Now her colleague Jamie Foxx (54) has announced that the blonde with the widest smile in Hollywood will be back in front of the camera with him.

Film fans should be euphoric. Since her debut alongside Jim Carrey (60) in “The Mask” in 1994, Diaz has been particularly famous for her roles in various (action) comedies. ‘There’s Something About Mary’ earned her her first Golden Globe nomination, and the meta-comedy ‘Being John Malkovich’ her second. With the remake of “Charlie’s Angels” she cracked the box office with Lucy Liu (53) and Drew Barrymore (47) and turned her career shortly before the “Golden Raspberry” towards more demanding calibers like “Vanilla Sky” or “Gangs of New York.” At times she was one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

The desire to become “complete”.

But obviously the pure career did not fulfill Diaz completely. In 2014 she betrayed Gwyneth Paltrow (49) in a public conversationthat she is tired of constantly traveling for her job. She can no longer say who she really is, says Diaz. And the need to “complete” oneself, to fulfill oneself outside of work.

The plan quickly worked out privately: After only seven months of dating, Diaz married the guitarist of the rock band Good Charlotte, Benji Madden (43), in January 2015. In 2019 their daughter Raddix Chloe Wildflower Madden saw the light of day. For Diaz a great lifelong dream, for which she had to fight for a long time, as she recently reported on the “Kelly Clarkson Show”.

A return to film was no longer possible for Diaz, at the latest when she was born, who is completely immersed in her role as a mother. Also in conversation with Bruce Bozzi she explained in February 2021 that she could no longer imagine spending 14 to 16 hours on the film set as a mother. Elsewhere, she clearly denies the question of whether she misses filming.

And indeed: On Kevin Hart’s talk show she said in 2021 that she felt “complete” since taking this big step. Mission accomplished?

New passion: your own wine

Along the way, Diaz has also found time to publish several books on women’s health and beauty, ranging from nutrition to sleep to exercise. In 2020, the wine lover and a friend launched their own wine brand called “Avaline”. The project almost paves her entire Instagram account.

Her wine business is running, her marriage seems perfect, her daughter is now two years old. And obviously Diaz is now back in front of the camera: “I can’t wait, it’s going to be fun,” she confirmed on Instagram on Thursday an announcement by Jamie Foxx for a film together. Whether she “suffers” a “relapse” to Hollywood or whether it really remains an exception – we’ll see.
