Campari: the title falls, departure of the general director in 2024

(CercleFinance.com) – Campari shares suffered the biggest drop in the MIB ESG index on Monday following the announcement of the upcoming departure of its general director.

Around 3:45 p.m., the action of the Italian spirits group fell by 5.1%, going against the trend of a Milanese stock market up slightly by 0.2%.

The company announced this morning in a press release that its CEO Bob Kunze-Concewitz has decided to step down in April 2024 in order to devote more time to his passions and his family.

Since his arrival as general manager of the group 16 years ago, Campari’s stock price has increased more than five-fold, thanks to a three-fold increase in turnover.

He has been behind 27 acquisitions since 2007 and the success of Aperol, whose sales have increased 12-fold since 2007 to become the company’s leading brand.

He is expected to become a director of the company from next year.

Campari has decided to appoint a new general manager in the person of Matteo Fantacchiotti, the current head of its activities in Asia previously at Nestlé Waters, Diageo and Carlsberg.
