What adaptive cornering lights are in cars, this headlamp tries to transfer to the camping world – with practical additional benefits.
An innovative headlamp is currently making the rounds on the Internet. The so-called Adaptev Headlamp from Panther Vision is intended to always provide perfectly aligned light without you having to align it manually.
The principle is somewhat reminiscent of adaptive cornering lights in cars or motorcycles. If you drive into a curve, the light automatically expands. This should also work with this new headlamp. It automatically aligns the light with your field of vision. Manual adjustment is no longer necessary.
Imagine a jogger wearing a headlamp like this in the dark and having to tie his shoes briefly while changing the angle of his head. Here the light would automatically realign itself thanks to built-in motion sensors. The headlamp offers a total of five LED groups that can be controlled separately.
First and foremost, enabling and disabling unneeded light zones helps extend battery life. However, if you ever need the full light output, this is also possible. The manufacturer specifies the maximum brightness as 860 lumens and the battery life as up to 14 hours.
The innovative headlamp weighs around one hundred grams and is protected against water penetration according to IP67. It is charged via a USB-C port.
Price and availability
The Adaptev Headlamp is currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Remember that crowdfunding is generally not without risk for you. As part of the campaign you currently pay 49 US dollars (46 euros) for a copy. The regular retail price after the campaign is over is $75. We would like to introduce you to further innovations from the camping sector here.
