Can be canceled monthly and still have a mobile phone: the flex tariffs at o2

o2 currently offers interesting flexible contracts. What’s special: Your mobile phone contract has no defined term here – and you can get that with o2 at no extra charge! Another special feature: You can even combine the monthly cancellable tariff with a smartphone. You can read how this works here.

Thanks to the new Telecommunications Act of December 1, 2021, you can cancel your contracts monthly as soon as a 24-month contract period has expired. So far, the contracts have typically been extended by a further twelve months. Are you looking for a new contract and don’t want to give up your newly won freedom right away, then take a look at the new flex tariffs at o2.

There is also another exciting promotion: If you are currently switching from another provider to o2, you can secure a EUR 100 switching bonus apart from the Flex contracts.

But what is special about the new Flex contracts? You can – very flexibly – cancel it on a monthly basis at no extra charge. The monthly costs are therefore identical to those of the contracts with a term of 24 months.

This is how the new flex tariffs work at o2

This campaign with the new Flex tariffs runs until May 31, 2022. Compared to the old Flex tariffs without a term, you now save 5 euros per month. For the youngsters out there under the age of 29, o2 even waives an additional 10 euros per month. The maximum duration of the savings is limited to 24 months. So you can take advantage of the offer by May 2022 at the latest and in this case you would benefit from the cost reduction until May 2024.

A cool advantage with the o2 contracts: You can even order a new mobile phone. As you probably know, the monthly costs for a new smartphone are added to the contract costs. If you now cancel the Flex tariff at o2 and switch to a cheaper offer, then you only continue to pay for the mobile phone at o2 – and you are out of the contract.

The adjustments at o2 are even so convincing that there was praise from consumer advocates. As Golem reports, the digital officer at the consumer advice center Susanne Blohm praises the new offer from o2. It is a “good example of a consumer-friendly course on the market”. Because the elimination of the fees, which o2 is still offering until May, is not prescribed at all according to the new telecommunications law.

All further information and all contracts can be found on the campaign page at o2, which I have already linked to you above. Basically, however, all known o2 tariffs can be selected with the Flex option. So there is no reason to choose a long-term contract with o2 until May 2022! Only the change bonus of 100 euros, which o2 currently gives you for contracts with a term of 24 months, does not apply to the Flex contracts.
