You are referring to the new mandatory declaration for all owners, to be completed before June 30. Indeed, this new reporting obligation, included in article 1418 of the general tax code, should allow the tax administration to clearly identify the accommodation concerned by the remaining taxesnamely housing taxes on secondary residences and vacant premises.
By phone or by going to the tax office
This declaration can be made online, via the Manage my real estate tab available in your personal impots.gouv space. The General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) explains that to facilitate your declaration, the occupancy data known to the tax services is pre-filled.
If they are correct, all you have to do is validate your declaration, and that’s it. Otherwise, you have the option of modifying the declaration directly.

But what if you don’t have internet or you’re used to the paper declaration? In this specific case, you probably won’t be able to file a paper declaration, but don’t worry. There are other ways to comply with this declarative obligation without going through the internet.
Thus, the DGFiP ensures that if you need assistance in making your declaration or if you have a problem accessing our online services, you can call 0809401401 (free service + price of a call), Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., or you go directly to the tax department or in the France services area nearest to you to access a self-service computer and benefit from personalized support if necessary.
