Can you take advantage of the new declaration on the impots.gouv mobile application?

This is the main new feature for 2024 for your income tax return: you can now use the impots.gouv mobile application not only to check the pre-filled amounts but also to modify or complete your 2023 income and expenses.

Have you declared a marriage recently? Or a divorce? Or a move in 2023 or 2024? Do you have a bank account abroad? Significant land income? If you answer yes to any of these questions, there is no need to go any further: you will not be able to benefit from the declaration on the mobile application and the same message will appear on your screen as in the illustration photo below. above: This year, you are not eligible for mobile declaration. Go to the impots.gouv.fr website to declare.

For the moment, this new feature is only aimed at simple situations not requiring complex entry, recognized the Minister responsible for Public Accounts Thomas Cazenave during the press conference launching the 2024 declaration of 2023 income, Thursday 11 April morning. But Thomas Cazenave and his administration promise development of this application over the years so that the range of households able to benefit from this simplified procedure can expand.

A wide range of possible actions, as long as you have not completed an annexed declaration

Available on Android and Apple smartphones, this mobile application has in recent years only allowed you to check pre-filled amounts, as part of the automatic declaration. Now, once authenticated, you can launch the service declare my income and modify the pre-filled amounts for your income and expenses, after having initially confirmed your family situation. You can still add a RIB, add or modify a dependent child, declare annuities, financial income, modify your rental income if you are in the micro-property regime, deduct alimony, claim your tax credit for childcare costs, etc.

This simplified 4-step procedure concludes with a summary before validating. Your declaration and your notice of income tax declaration situation (ASDIR) will be immediately available in the Documents section of the application, specifies the DGFiP. You will be able to share your opinion directly from your smartphone if necessary. Be careful though, the DGFiP warns in the press kit of the declaration thata form completed on mobile… can then only be corrected on mobile, and no longer via the detailed form on impots.gouv.fr. So don’t start declaring on a smartphone without thinking!
