For this last day of the Cannes Film Festival, Guillaume Canet strolled on the red carpet of the Croisette. But now the director has climbed the steps alone, without Marion Cotillard by his side.
This Saturday, May 28, Vincent Lindon, president of the jury closed this 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. But as tradition dictates, celebrities climbed the stairs one last time for this 2022 edition. Thus, the photographers were able to notice Guillaume Canet, dressed in a magnificent suit and a very elegant bow tie. But one small detail caught the eye: director and actor was all alone. No Marion Cotillard on the horizon. It was without his companion that he posed in front of the photographers and climbed the steps of Cannes. For her part, Marion Cotillard was present on the Croisette on May 20.
An appearance therefore quite surprising for Guillaume Canet. This did not prevent the director from lending himself to the game of photos but also interviews. Indeed, the actor gave his feelings at the microphone of France Télévisions: “Already when you come to present your film at Cannes, it’s an honor, it’s a great pleasure. I experienced it with Blood Ties, it’s a great moment. And I think that the directors who come back closing night, already when they go up the stairs, they risk having something. So somewhere, there is a satisfaction, a happiness to celebrate their film”.

Guillaume Canet also returned to his sometimes very committed roles : “It’s important to get involved, especially today, in the world in which we live. wouldn’t do the rest of the year. And as it’s an international Festival, it also allows you to meet foreign directors”he said, before continuing: “Me, last night at a dinner I met fascinating people, whom I would not necessarily have had the chance to meet if I had not come here”. Guillaume Canet therefore left with lots of projects in mind.
