Presented this evening in the out-of-competition category, Top Gun 2 kicks off the Festival with the presence, among others, of Tom Cruise, Omar Sy and Jennifer Connelly on the red carpet!
Expected in our cinemas next week, Top Gun: Maverick offered a prestigious preview this Wednesday, May 18 during the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.
The film was screened this evening, out of competition, after a flamboyant launch led by its star actor, Tom Cruise, and the Patrouille de France whose planes flew over the Palais des Festivals
Thirty years after the presentation of Far Horizons by Ron Howard, the famous interpreter of Lieutenant Pete Mitchell is therefore back on the Croisette to accompany this long-awaited sequel to the first Top Gun released in 1986.
As a reminder, this second opus returns to the story of the Maverick pilot who refuses to rise in rank, because it would force him to give up flying. He then finds himself in charge of forming a detachment of young school graduates for a special mission. There, Maverick reunites with Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, the son of his late friend, navigator Nick “Goose” Bradshaw. Faced with an uncertain future, haunted by his ghosts, Maverick will have to face his worst nightmares during a mission that will require the greatest of sacrifices.
The feature film will be released everywhere in France on May 25.
