Director Ruben Östlund is this year’s jury president at the Cannes Film Festival. Now it is clear who will be on the jury.

Brie Larson (33, “Captain Marvel”) will have a special role at the 76th Cannes Film Festival: she is one of eight members of the main jury of the competition. That’s what the festival has on the official website announced.

Accordingly, in addition to Larson, the Moroccan director Maryam Touzani (43), the French actor Denis Ménochet (46), the British-Zambian screenwriter and director Rungano Nyoni (41), the American actor and director Paul Dano (38), the Afghan Writer and filmmaker Atiq Rahimi (61), Argentinian director and screenwriter Damián Szifrón (47) and French director Julia Ducournau (39) make up the jury. The jury duty is for Oscar-winning actress and filmmaker Brie Larson according to “Deadline” the first official trip to Cannes.

Previously, the Swedish director Ruben Östlund (49) was President of the Jury at the 76th Cannes Film Festival confirmed. The jury has the task of awarding the Palme d’Or to one of the 21 films in the competition. Winners will be announced on May 27th during the Closing Ceremony. The festival is scheduled to take place on the Côte d’Azur from May 16th to 27th, 2023.
