Dame Judi Dench suffers from macular degeneration

Judi Dench has revealed she has advanced macular degeneration. However, the 87-year-old does not think about the acting pension.
Actress Judi Dench (87) has spoken about a serious physical impairment, according to “The Sun”.from which she suffers. In an interview due to be broadcast on BBCTwo next week, the star revealed she has severe macular degeneration in both eyes. “I’m not doing much at the moment because I can’t see. It’s bad,” the site quoted in advance from the interview.
Accordingly, it is no longer possible for her to write and read due to the incurable disease of the retina, which affects the central point of sharpest vision. However, the 87-year-old Oscar winner does not think about the end of her six-decade career: “I don’t want to retire.” Dench is optimistic that the fact that she is no longer able to read the scripts will not stop her.
“I have to teach myself a new way of learning. I have a photographic memory. If a person tells me, ‘This is your text’, I can do it. And I have many people who can help me.”

The portrayal of the British royal family in the TV show is “cruelly unfair,” says the actress.
In the post, Dench also found that the closer the series gets to the present day, the more willing the makers seem to “blur the lines between historical accuracy and clumsy sensationalism.” The open letter came just before the start of season five of The Crown, which will premiere on Netflix November 9.
