The construction in France of the first enzymatic PET biorecycling plant by Carbios marks a major step forward towards the establishment of a circular economy for plastics and textiles. This innovation in the process of industrialization demonstrates to what extent the ecological transition also offers the opportunity for a green reindustrialization of France, and that the circular textile economy is a sector that creates environmental value, growth and jobs. .
Remember that Carbios has developed a technology for recycling PET by enzymatic depolymerization which also applies to polyester textiles. The industrial demonstrator co-financed by the EIB, with its own patented textile preparation line inaugurated in October 2023, will incorporate textile waste prepared in the Carbios process for large-scale recycling. The world’s first biorecycling plant is under construction in Longlaville, in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
