After having conquered the world of music and that of politics, Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy are ready to conquer that of wine. To the magazine Galathe 54-year-old singer opened wide the doors of the Château d’Estoublon, a huge building that they acquired with two partners to embark on the oenology business with their own wine, called Roseblood: “It was my husband and our two partners who wanted to embark on this adventure. It’s exciting but also a little disturbing since it touches on a field and a know-how that I don’t know at all. But we are well organized.”
To be guided in the case, Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy called on professionals and enthusiasts of the trade: “Our oenologist Anaïs Maillet, thanks to her know-how, makes the wine and we assist her, mainly in the creative part. […] What impresses me the most is the vibe I feel in someone. […] With the Estoublon team, so passionate about this profession that is so specific, important, meticulous, precise, I never felt any distance. We worked hand in hand and I learned a lot from them.“
At the Domaine d’Estoublon, Carla Bruni feels at home: “There are places like this that are irresistible. Not to mention the estate itself, it is located in the Alpilles region, unique with its extraordinary landscapes of beauty and poetry. I even find that there is a special scent in the wind that can only be found there.” So embarking on this new adventure has been exhilarating: “It is a special satisfaction. I would even say more like each new project, it gives me excitement, it makes me alive!“
The singer, very comfortable in this atmosphere and this new environment, even allows herself to dream one day of transforming the castle into a concert hall: “I have already written several songs in the castle, she declares. There are several rooms where you can isolate yourself and I regularly go there at night with my guitar and let the inspiration come. Never played here, but would love to. My musicians would also be delighted. It’s not planned at the moment but you never know.“Who knows, maybe she will present a duet with her daughter Giulia, seed of a singer…
