Carlos Tavares confirms Italy’s future at Stellantis


The boss of the group met Thursday with the transalpine unions, very worried since the PSA-FCA merger.

“Italy is at the heart of Stellantis and the execution of its Dare 2030 plan.”Carlos Tavares, the boss of Stellantis, finally told the group’s Italian unions what they had been waiting for a year. Better still, while the weakness of production (less than 700,000 vehicles in 2021) made them fear factory closures and the semiconductor crisis forced several Italian sites to suspend production in recent days, Carlos Tavares told them confirmed its pre-merger promise: the 2030 plan does not foresee any closing of sites, only the transformation of those that will have to adapt to the manufacture of electric cars. The requalification of the existing forces will be obtained by a major training effort.
