PARIS, December 23 (Reuters) – French company Carmat announced on Thursday that it had completed its investigation into the quality problems identified with some of its artificial heart prostheses.

“This investigation, now completed, made it possible to identify the origin of the quality problem, and to determine the changes required to prevent it from recurring,” Carmat said in a statement.

The company, which announced on December 3 the suspension on its initiative of the implantations of its artificial heart, specifies that it will transmit the results of its investigations to the competent regulators, particularly in France and the United States.

She adds that she will take a new look at the situation in January 2022 and that she hopes to be able to present a timetable for resuming the establishments within a few weeks.
