Casino: Jean-Charles Naouri targeted by a judicial investigation

(AOF) – Jean-Charles Naouri, CEO and main shareholder of Casino, is the subject of a judicial investigation for rape and domestic violence. The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office opened a judicial inquiry after a complaint from his wife, filed in 2022. The case follows the filing of a first complaint by Mrs. Naouri in February 2022, dismissed on August 26 of the same year. A second complaint was filed by the CEO’s wife in October 2022, with civil action.

On the stock market, the Saint-Etienne distributor lost 1.05% to 2.45 euros while the day before S&P Global Ratings lowered its credit rating for Casino from “CCC-” to “CC”, with a negative outlook. S&P notes that Casino’s operating performance in the first half remained “very weak” and believes that default is imminent for the struggling retail group.
