(CercleFinance.com) – Caterpillar announced on Tuesday that it had successfully tested, in collaboration with the American gold mining group Newmont, its first prototype of an electric dumper for underground mining on an Australian mine.
Developed in collaboration with Newmont, this zero-emission battery-electric mining truck is also fully connected and automated, the construction equipment manufacturer points out in a press release.
The group had already unveiled a model of the same type last year, the 793, but this time intended for surface mining applications.
This equipment will complement an electrical offer already made up of the R1700 XE battery loader.
