Catherine, Princess of Wales, not only relies on the Irish green for the “Trooping the Color” parade, but also honors Lady Diana with a special detail.
It is a special spectacle in London, which this year is dedicated to the birthday of King Charles III, 74. For the annual “Trooping the Color” parade, high-ranking members of the British royal family gather in festive looks. Above all, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, stands out. In a green look, she is greeted inside a carriage by a sea of enthusiastic spectators.
Catherine, Princess of Wales: The meaning behind her green look
As Honorary Colonel of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards, Catherine, Princess of Wales is dressed in Irish green, a fashion that reflects both the country’s natural landscape and Celtic heritage. With her robe she creates the perfect bridge between traditional uniform and elegant dress. Above all, however, the symbolic power of her fashionable choice, with which she represents her role as the head of the Irish Guard, catches the eye. The Irish Guards are one of the seven regiments of British Army House Troops also taking part in the Trooping the Color parade. King Charles III appointed Kate to colonel in December 2022. A worthy moment as she has honored the regiment on St. Patrick’s Day for over a decade.
Elegant and glamorous — the design speaks for itself
However, it is not only the green color that fascinates everyone, the design is also impressive: the fine, tailor-made coat dress by Andrew Gn impresses not only with its vibrant color but also with a nine-row, magnificent button placket made of precious stones. The wide-brimmed hat by Philip Treacy also gives Kate a royal touch and adds even more elegance to her look with a bow at the back.

With this accessory she honors Lady Diana
Kate’s outfit is not only well thought out because of the green color, but also because of the choice of a special accessory, which is gracefully staged because of her gallant chignon. Kate is honoring Lady Diana, 36†, on this special day by combining Asprey London earrings with sapphires and diamonds that were once Diana’s property. Cut and sized, the teardrop design flatters Kate’s features and complements her smoky eye beautifully.

The golden shamrock: A special brooch
On her chest, Catherine, Princess of Wales wears another accessory with symbolic meaning. Cartier’s gold shamrock, like the green color of her coat dress, pays homage to her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards. Traditionally, this brooch is seen with Kate on St. Patrick’s Day.

In the past she relied on another designer
Since 2011, shortly after her wedding to Prince William, 40, Kate has been attending the top-class royal event, happily showing off her favorite designer Alexander McQueen for this special parade, who is best known for his avant-garde silhouettes and elegant designs. Whether with a fascinator, glamorous in white or spring-like in rosé: Kate not only knows how to present herself appropriately for the occasion, but also to demonstrate her fashion sense.
