Courage is rewarded: That much is clear when you enter the home of Cathy Hummels, 33. Because if the likes of us shy away from colors and wild patterns in furnishing style, Cathy proves that more simply makes more.

Cathy lives comfortably, stylishly and modernly. “I have quite a lot of space at my disposal and I like to use it optimally. I love it when a room comes to life. I also believe that interiors reflect personality.”

Nico Tijsen, creative director at Rivièra Maison, helped Cathy with the perfect furnishing, he reveals to GALA: “I love the big house in the Munich suburbs, which we wanted to loosen up with soft and friendly materials such as fluffy carpets and velvet as well as eye-catching colors. “
The hallway is also tropical – including the carpet, like on clouds.

Cathy says she likes color – but it has to match the rest of the furniture. At first glance, a gentle rosé dominates. The absolute eye-catcher in your living room: the huge sofa landscape in front of the large window front and eye-catching wallpaper; plus a large coffee table, minimalist lamps and many lanterns that create a cozy atmosphere. She explains: “My favorite combination is pink, gold and dark green. I don’t want to overload. I like to use targeted highlights! But first and foremost it’s Cathy. I have to be able to find myself. If you follow me When I come home, all visitors will immediately see that I live there.”

Nico goes on to explain that Cathy loves wallpaper – just like himself: “A perfect match! For the hallway I chose a tropical flair, in the dining room area a safari look combined with bright dining room chairs. And in the living room a striking La Scala- Wallpaper that goes perfectly with the pink Brandon sofa!” So there are no boring, bare walls in the Hummels’ house. In the dining room with animal print wallpaper, a round marble table and rose velvet chairs provide an elegant contrast. In the spacious hallway, the fluffy carpet on the dark wooden floor radiates comfort. Console tables showcase home accessories and give the hallway the feeling of being more than just a space to walk through.

Important for the furnishing overall: always the right balance of eye-catching parts and high-quality accessories that ensure peace and quiet. “A colorful sofa, for example, needs a neutral counterpart. Otherwise it becomes too loud, too hectic,” explains Nico. So Cathy provides us with perfect inspiration for our next home makeover.
