Cattle drama in Upper Austria – officials doused with milk: farmer as animal torturer

Cattle drama in Ranshofen in Upper Austria: 14 calves were completely neglected, two of them had already died – probably starved. There is a ban on keeping animals against the farmer (54). He was admitted to the psychiatric ward after the scandal.

The ruthless farmer is an “old acquaintance” for the authorities. His animals have been taken from him four times in the past few years because he was unable to look after them. He has an indefinite ban on keeping animals and a ban on weapons. “He doesn’t get any cattle sold anywhere in the Innviertel region,” says Braunau district governor Gerald Kornberger. He probably got his last calves from Bavaria. Admitted to a psychiatric ward After the animals were taken away, the farmer still didn’t calm down. He threatened to pour a full bucket of milk over the intervening people. When the police asked him not to do this, he took the jar and poured the milk over those present. He was then arrested and taken to the police station and later admitted to the psychiatric ward. “Difficult patient” Unfortunately, he is a “difficult patient” in several respects. An animal inspection took place at the farmer in Ranshofen on Thursday. The official veterinarian and two other officials from the BH Braunau and police officers were on site. The farmer behaved aggressively and disrespectfully. The 54-year-old disturbed the intervening officers and violated public decency several times by constantly insulting them, although police officers repeatedly asked him to stop his aggressive behavior. A total of 14 calves were taken from him in a neglected condition. Two had already died – they must have starved – two more were only skin and bones.
