This is a case that is causing a lot of noise in France. Since November 18, 2023, Sébastien Cauet has been the subject of three complaints for rape and sexual assault. A few days later, the flagship host of NRJ filed a complaint in turn for “attempted extortion by an organized gang, slanderous denunciation, forgery and uses against unnamed persons”, as reported by our colleagues at BFMTV. On December 8, 2023, Nathalie Dartois, Cauet’s partner, broke the silence on this story in the columns of the magazine Closer.
The ex-model claims that the accusations made against her companion are false and thatshe never had any doubts about it : “That doesn’t look like the Sébastien I know. He was always a gallant man, a gentleman and respectful of women. He is a man who has principles and values.“ When the journalist asks her if she contacted Julie, the young woman who filed a rape complaint against the host, she replies: “I will never, ever lower myself to that. I trust in justice.” Nathalie Dartois also responded to the L’Obs investigation which reported thata “hypersexualized” atmosphere reigned in the team of the man who has shared his life for five years. “It’s impossible. Ask the collaborators who have been with him for twenty years,” we can read.
Cauet withdraws from the NRJ antenna
On November 22, 2023, following the various accusations against him, Cauet has decided to withdraw from the NRJ antenna for a time. A decision that he then explained on X (formerly Twitter) before proclaiming his innocence: “I have proof of my innocence, my lawyers will refer it to the Nanterre Public Prosecutor’s Office. I will fight against this lamentable destabilization enterprise.” During his interview with CloserNathalie Dartois returned to her companion’s decision to no longer go on the air: “To make people laugh, you have to be good and he’s not good. He is waiting for the truth to come out and his honor to be restored.“ To be continued…
