While the CD Projekt Red teams are currently hard at work developing the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it seems that some of them are working on a brand new adventure around the Gwent (also called Gwent, in The Witcher 3). This strategic mini-game introduced in the third opus The Witcher had pleased players, so much so that the studio had released a title in its own right, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, before using its mechanics in a new one. adventure, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.
However, they do not intend to stop in such a good way. Indeed, according to IGN, the development studio CD Projekt Red is currently working on a stand-alone in the Gwent universe. It would be a ” captivating single-player experience », according to the developers. Pawel Burza, Gwent Games Communications Manager, said “ It’s not another Witcher Tales game, but something different. Our goal is to deliver an engaging single-player game for players who prefer it to the competitive multiplayer-centric Gwent”.
For the moment, this new solo game is known as “The Golden Nekker” and the developers have not given any further details as to its content and release date. However, it should land by the end of this year 2022. We also had the right to several visuals, some of which represent cards that should be available in said title.
