Dragon’s Dogma may not be the classic 10 out of 10 RPG masterpiece, but the game is still considered one of the absolute gems among fans of the genre. For the 10th anniversary of Capcom’s action RPG, there was the joy of a sequel.

Dragon’s Dogma is finally moving on after 10 years
Capcom’s popular action RPG has been quiet for a long time, but rumors of a Dragon’s Dogma sequel have surfaced over the past two years. In November 2020, the publisher suffered a major data theft and in September 2021, the games database of Nvidia’s streaming service GeForce Now leaked a large list of upcoming games, including Dragon’s Dogma 2.
In a stream celebrating Dragon’s Dogma’s tenth anniversary, Game Director Hideaki Itsuno, Art Director Daigo Ikeno and Environment Art Lead Developer Kenichi Suzuki looked back at the making of Dragon’s Dogma. The stream ended with the announcement of Part 2.
Sparse information about Dragon’s Dogma 2
What fans of Dragon’s Dogma 2 can expect, Capcom wanted to keep mostly to themselves. Itsuna revealed that the sequel is already in development and the RE engine uses. The remakes of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry 5 and the recently announced Street Fighter 6 are also based on this engine. A release period and the platforms for which Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to appear have not yet been revealed.
The first part appeared in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360 and was expanded in 2013 with the addon Dark Arisen. The PC release followed in 2016. There are also versions for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Because it no release date yet and playing part 1 again might not be enough to bridge the waiting time, that would be Anime adaptation on Netflix another way to delve further into the world of Dragon’s Dogma.
