The romantic and musical comedy “Love Again: a little, a lot, passionately” was released yesterday in our theaters. The film is worn by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan and Céline Dion, but the singer did not shoot her scenes with the actors…
For her first role as an actress in the cinema, Celine Dion shares the poster for the romantic comedy Love Again: a little, a lot, passionately with Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Citadel) and Sam Heughan (Outlander). In Jim Strouse’s film, the singer gives love advice to Sam Heughan.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays Mira, a writer and illustrator of children’s books who is trying to come to terms with the death of her fiancé. The latter sends a series of romantic messages to the phone number of her late love without realizing that the number has been reassigned to Rob Burns, played by Sam Heughan.
Music journalist, Rob is captivated by the sincerity of these epistolary confessions. When he’s given the job of writing the likeness of mega star Celine Dion, he enlists her help in figuring out how to meet Mira face-to-face…and win her heart.
If in the image the Scottish comedian and the Indian actress share several scenes with the interpreter of All By Myselfthe two actors have never actually shot with Celine Dion.
Separate shot and on green screen
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sam Heughan explains that the film was shot in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, when travel was prohibited. As a result, the singer shot her scenes in Canada while the other actors were in the UK (the film is supposed to take place in New York).

“We were shooting during the pandemic, and obviously it was very difficult for people to travel at the time, so we shot a lot of the film on sound stages and green screen. That was one of the challenges to address during the pandemic.
We were in our own bubble in the UK and Celine was in Canada.

The singer, who had to postpone her European tour once again due to health problems, could not, moreover, run the risk of traveling and catching the Covid.
Technology plays an important role in the film and therefore also proved to be very useful for the filming of this romantic comedy.
The comedians also explain that they were not allowed to stay more than 25 minutes in the same room.

Priyanka Chopra told the magazine: “It was crazy at the time. It was tough, but it was a scary time for everyone. As actors, we had to take off our masks on set and I was terrified at first. But we were doing a romantic comedy, we had to bring lightness.”
Nevertheless, despite the heavy protocols linked to the pandemic, the filming of Love again was a pressure relief valve for the film crew as pointed out Sam Heughan :
“I think we were all ready for it. After confinements and isolation, everyone was ready to find joy again. That’s why this film came at just the right time. I think we all need that kind of film and that kind of message, especially after the pandemic and everything that’s going on in the world.”
