Android Auto gets a new “face”. At the CES in Las Vegas, Google presented a new design for the popular car interface. In the future, your infotainment interface will shine in the new Material You design. Drivers can also look forward to new functions.
In the future, you will be able to select ready-made replies to messages received while driving and send them directly at the touch of a button. Previously, you could only send replies to important messages by voice input from the Google Assistant.
More entertainment and digital car keys
Google is now also introducing a progress bar for media playback, for example from streaming services such as Spotify. This has been missing so far. And a YouTube app for car screens will soon be available in the Google Play Store. It is not yet known whether this can only be used when stationary or also while driving.
If you use your car with friends and family, it will be even easier to share your digital car key in the future. Because Google is now rolling out this function for other devices. Previously, this feature was only offered for Pixel and iPhones.
Now models from Samsung and Xiaomi are to be added. When exactly all these functions will be usable is not yet known. Android Auto fans should therefore be particularly careful in their car.
