CES 2023 – Lenovo presents a Tab M9 tablet at a very low price

A few days before the opening of CES 2023, high mass of electronics during which it will show new PCs, Lenovo will unveil its new tablets. The Chinese brand, which is expected in the high-end segment, formalizes its Tab M9 a little in advance, positioned in the very competitive entry-level market. It comes between the Tab M8, which have not been renewed since 2019, and the most recent Tab M10.

More compact than the 3rd generation Tab M10 Plus tested this year in our columns, the Tab M9 sports a 9-inch screen whose definition is confined to HD+ (1340 x 800 pixels). This compact model (215.43 x 136.76 x 7.99 mm), and whose weight is established at 344 g, logically hides a modest chip, here the MediaTek Helio G80 seen on another entry-level tablet , the Realme Pad. This SoC is accompanied by 3 to 4 GB of RAM, and 32 to 128 GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card.

This tablet is undoubtedly aimed at family use and will come with apps such as YouTube Kids and Netflix pre-installed. Two speakers stamped Dolby Atmos aim to satisfy multimedia lovers. Let’s add that Lenovo announces 13 hours of video playback on this device equipped with a 5100 mAh battery and counting on a 15 W charge. Finally, we note the compatibility of the Tab M9 with face recognition unlocking, with wifi 5 and the integration of an 8-megapixel camera on the back of the device. It will be launched under Android 12, but with the assurance of seeing it go under Android 13.

For the time being, Lenovo is content to indicate a price in dollars for its Tab M9. It is therefore announced from $140 for availability in the second quarter of 2023. There is no doubt that, by its release, other more ambitious slates will have appeared, like the Tab Extreme, which we are talking about a lot for a few weeks.
