CES 2023 – LG Display formalizes 27 and 45 inch 240 Hz Oled panels for PC monitors

LG Display is taking advantage of CES 2023, which will open on January 4 in Las Vegas in the United States, to formalize its 27 and 45-inch Oled 240 Hz panels intended for PC gaming. LG Display highlights the ultra-fast response time of Oled technology, announced at 0.03 ms, a refresh rate of 240 Hz and of course infinite contrast. These Oled tiles are also coated with a new anti-reflective filter which should greatly reduce stray lights. The 27-inch model displays a rather comfortable Quad HD definition of 2560 x 1440 px, while the 45-inch model is content with a UWQHD definition of 3440 x 1440 px, and therefore a resolution of 84 pixels per inch. in contradiction with the large radius of curvature (80 cm – 800R) which requires that one is close, ideally at 80 cm, from the screen.

LG Display also highlights its very low blue light emission compared to conventional LCD monitors, which should reduce eye strain. These panels are of course free of flicker (Flicker-Free). Finally, the radius of curvature of only 80 cm (800R) should contribute to reinforce the immersion.

LG Display should begin volume production of these 27 and 45-inch 240 Hz Oled panels in January. They will be found in Asus, Corsair and LG Electronics monitors. The LG Electronics models are already known and we know for example that the LG UltraGear 27GR95QE monitor will be sold for around $1,000 excluding tax, and probably a little over €1,200 including tax in France. The 45-inch model — the LG UltraGear 45GR95QE — should cost around €2,000. The Asus PG27AQDM, equipped with the same panel, should also be available at the beginning of the year for a price of around 1200 €. Presented at Gamescom 2022, the Corsair Xeneon Flex with its flexible 45-inch panel will also be marketed in the first quarter of 2023 for a price of $2,000 excluding tax, or probably €2,500 in France.
