PC screens dedicated to gaming have become legion and drivers of innovation. Acer knows this and announced its Predator Z57, with the possibility of displaying two distinct sources.

Four ultrawide screens were announced by Acer during CES 2024, including two with a MiniLED panel. The most impressive of all, both in terms of its price and its size, has a diagonal of no less than 57 inches with 4K resolution.

A very large screen that can display two sources

Concretely, we could say that Acer has taken all the technologies of the moment to put them in a single giant screen dedicated to gaming. And that’s not particularly wrong. But the Predator Z57, announced during CES 2024, still promises very good things.

First of all, this is a curved and ultrawide screen of no less than 57 inches, with a UHD definition of 7680 x 2160 pixels. All this obviously allows you to benefit from a very large display for a work environment for example, but that’s not all; Acer has announced that it will be possible to connect two different sources to split the screen in two. You will therefore be able to take advantage of the two HDMI 2.1 ports (compatible with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X) as well as the DisplayPort 1.4 port and see both your console and your PC, for example.

Then, since this screen is primarily dedicated to video games on PC, we find the usual characteristics of this market. The Predator Z57 from Acer has a MiniLED screen with 2304 local dimming zones, a maximum brightness of 1000 nits and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. No mention of the response time has been communicated for the hour.

Obviously, with all that, the price must follow: the Acer Predator Z57 screen will be available in the second quarter of 2024 for an announced price of… €2,399.

Three other screens announced at lower prices

In addition to the monster Z57, Acer has announced three other Predator displays, namely the X39, X34 X and X34 V3. Under these somewhat barbaric names hide two OLED screens and another MiniLED, at prices more accessible than the most high-end.

The first is none other than the X34 V3, a 34-inch curved and ultrawide MiniLED screen, with a QHD resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. No dual source this time, but still other great features like a response time of 1ms and a refresh rate of 180 Hz. You will nevertheless have to make do with two HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 ; So don’t plan to take advantage of the maximum performance of the latest generation consoles, if that was your wish.

The last two screens, namely X39 and X34 Unlike MiniLEDs, these two models allow you to enjoy a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response time of 0.01ms, making them perhaps the best choice for competitive gaming.

The three screens will be available from the second quarter of 2024 from us, at different prices:

  • Predator X39: €1,499;
  • Predator X34 X: €1,299;
  • Predator X34 V3: €849.
