During the CES 2024NVIDIA should announce the graphics cards GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series and confirm sales prices.
Only a few days ago, Moore’s Law is Dead was the first to give us the expected prices for the new GeForce from NVIDIA. Prices that we took with a certain distance.
Today, it is a second informant – often more reliable – who partly confirms the previous information. The price of the RTX 4080 SUPER seems likely to be significantly lower than that of the RTX 4080.
No info on the “base” RTX 4070
Let’s admit that when Moore’s Law is Dead announced the prices, we had some doubts. However, MEGAsizeGPU indicates the same prices while NVIDIA should confirm all this tomorrow.
The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER would therefore be offered at $599 while the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is considered two hundred dollars more expensive, at exactly $799. It should be noted, however, that MEGAsizeGPU does not confirm the reduction made on the “basic” GeForce RTX 4070 which, according to Moore’s Law is Dead, should end up at $549 on the new price list.
A new price which is not illogical knowing that NVIDIA should maintain this card and that it does not have the power of the SUPER model: they must be distinguished by different prices.
$200 drop on the 4080
Still, the most interesting thing is the price drop announced for NVIDIA’s high-end. The “base” GeForce RTX 4080 should soon be history, replaced by the SUPER model.
But while the “base” card had a retail price of $1,199, MEGAsizeGPU confirms the figure put forward by Moore’s Law is Dead for the RTX 4080 SUPER: $999. Certainly, the technical characteristics of the card suggest that it will only be a little more powerful than the old model, but 200 dollars less is a nice reduction.
Of course, we still have to know the conversion that will be applied by NVIDIA on its three cards, but as we indicated at the start of the article, we should know more tomorrow.
