Headphones like the AirPods Pro 2 are resistant to splashing water, but they are not waterproof. Shokz thus stands out from the various models of headphones/headphones on the market with its OpenSwim Pro which, as its name suggests, can be worn when you are doing laps in a swimming pool. Of course, the OpenSwim Pro helmet is also intended for use outside the pool, during a running session or on a bike, for example.

Underwater listening poses several problems that the OpenSwim Pro aims to solve. First of all, water is a very poor conductor of waves and therefore allows Bluetooth communications to pass through very poorly. This is why the OpenSwim Pro includes a 32 GB memory allowing you to directly store its sounds in MP3 format. The headset, however, remains perfectly viable in Bluetooth once out of the water.
The second challenge is obviously the comfort and fit of the helmet. In this regard, Shokz claims to have worked with a nickel-titanium alloy and soft silicone so that it remains comfortable to wear, even with a swimming cap and swimming goggles. It also maintains an open format like the brand’s other bone conduction headphones. Of course, the OpenSwim Pro headset is perfectly waterproof (IP68 certification which allows immersion in 2 meters of water for two hours). As for autonomy, it extends up to 9 hours.
Shokz has equipped its submersible headphones with PremiumPitch 2.0+ audio technology, which promises powerful sound with intense bass. Microphones and noise and echo reduction should provide quality phone calls.
