Hisense unveiled its new televisions for 2024 with a number of Mini-Led models at CES in Las Vegas. The surprise came from a whole range of models hanging on the wall like paintings, like what we have found for several years at Samsung with The Frame series.
In terms of indoor integration, the Frame constitutes the best option available on the market today, and no competitor has come up against Samsung until now. Rather than having a large black screen in the middle of the living room, The Frame and the future Canvas are installed on the wall with customizable frames of different materials and colors, and you can display works of art or personal photos there to beautify your interior.
The Frame vs. Canvas
How will Hisense Canvases differ from Frames? Difficult to say at the moment, because we have little information. The Frames offer a perfectly matte coating which is much appreciated, but the Canvases seemed effective in this area. Also, Samsung televisions come with a remote box, so they are thin with just one small cable lying around. Hisense could therefore choose a similar solution.
Finally, if the Frames are devilishly effective in integration, they have some weaknesses: firstly an image quality limited by a simple LCD panel, and a paid subscription to have access to a large number of works issued by prestigious museums worldwide. Hisense will play the Mini-Led card with much greater brightness and, possibly, a cheaper or even free solution (perhaps also less complete) to be able to display works at home.
In any case, we know their prices: €1100 for the 55-inch model, €1300 for the 65-inch and €1500 for the 75-inch. For comparison, the Frame 2023s cost €1500 and €1900 in 55 and 65 inches respectively at the time of their release. The Canvases are scheduled for sale on the market at the end of 2024.
