2024 - César 2022: Antoine de Caunes' big pressure on the future winners

This Friday, February 25, Antoine de Caunes will put on his costume as Caesar master of ceremonies for the tenth time. During an interview for Canal +, the host slipped a little wise advice to future winners.

Friday, February 25, the 47th Cesar ceremony will be broadcast from 9 p.m. on Canal +, in clear. To chaperone the event, it is a well-known face of the environment who has been chosen since it is quite simply Antoine de Caunes, who is back for a tenth edition. At the dawn of this evening of celebration of cinema, the host spoke in an interview for Canal +. Among other things, he sent a message to future winners. “You always have to be aware that we’re doing a tribute evening to the cinema but that we’re not just working for the cinema, but also for the people who are at home, comfortably installed. What I’m going to do is is that I’m going to make a little video that we’re going to give to the nominees, giving them a little tutorial, two or three tips, starting with the time we stay on stage“, dropped Antoine de Caunes before launching, visibly tired: “And avoid, I beg you, to thank the whole earthbecause the whole earth is very touched that we thank her every time but that’s a lot of people after twenty Caesars“Words that bring to mind, in a much more tempered way, Ricky Gervais’ recommendations during the 2020 Golden Globes. The British comedian, then in charge of hosting the ceremony, had declared to the attention of the future winners: “If you win a prize tonight, don’t use it to make a political speech. You are in no position to lecture the public on anything. You don’t know anything about the real world (…) So if you win, come, accept your small reward, thank your agent and your God and get out!“, he blurted out.

Antoine de Caunes: “I don’t want another Masiero”

At the beginning of February, in the columns of Figaro, Antoine de Caunes spoke about the controversy of the César 2021, then animated by Marina Foïs. “I don’t want another Masiero”he said before adding: “I want to avoid this register. I want a joyful evening, emotions and laughterand putting cinema back at the heart of this gala.” The tone is set !
