César 2022: this deceased actor who will be honored during the ceremony

This Friday, January 21, 2022, the Académie des César unveiled its new poster for the 47th ceremony which will take place on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Olympia. And a great actor who passed away this year has been honored.

On September 6, 2021, the French learned, not without emotion, of the death of Jean-Paul Belmondo. The actor died at the age of 88 at home and the tributes had not ceased to flow on social networks. A few days later, the “Magnificent” was honored during a grand ceremony at the Invalides, surrounded by his relatives, politicians but also the world of the 7th Art. Outside, many onlookers also gathered to pay their last respects to this great actor.

A ceremony which was marked in particular by the fair and tender words of his grandson, Paul Belmondo: “Throughout his life, he never stopped looking for happiness, but above all to give it. Both to his family and to everyone else. Through his films, but also because he was and will remain: a sun. The sun does not go out. It shines. It radiates everywhere, all the time. When he goes to bed somewhere, he wakes up somewhere else. And our grandfather irradiates us and he will irradiate us everywhere with his smile, his kindness, his extreme benevolence: he is an eternal sun”.

Belmondo, star of the Caesars

Six months after his death, the emotion is still very present. In a few weeks, the major events in the world of cinema will begin, such as the Césars or the Cannes Film Festival, and of course, Jean-Paul Belmondo will be an integral part of this ceremony through numerous tributes. And the first has already started.

This Friday, January 21, 2022, the account Twitter from Canal+, the channel on which the ceremony will be broadcast, has just unveiled the poster for this 47th edition and Jean-Paul Belmondo is honored! The latter reveals three moments of complicity between Anna Karina and the actor in the film Pierrot le fou, directed by Jean-Luc Godard. The 47th Cesar ceremony will be broadcast on February 25, 2022 on Canal+ and Antoine de Caunes will be in charge, for the tenth and last time!
