César 2022: who are the nominated actors and actresses?

Who will succeed Laure Calamy and Sami Bouajila? One month before the next César ceremony, the Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques unveiled the nominations, this Wednesday, January 25. Big winner? The film Lost Illusions by Xavier Giannoli, which has no less than 15 nominations, including Best Film. VSconcerning the actors and actresses nominated to receive the most prestigious French prize, there are seven in each category. As for the actresses, we find Laure Calamy, who won the statuette in 2021, for her role in Une Femme du monde, Leïla Bekhti in Les Intranquilles, Valéria Bruni Tedeschi in La Fracture, Virginie Efira in Benedetta, Vicky Krieps in Serre moi strong, Valérie Lemercier in Aline and Léa Seydoux for France.

Among the actors too, they are seven to be able to obtain the César for best actor : Damien Bonnard in Les Intranquilles, Adam Driver in Annette, Gilles Lellouche in Bac Nord, Vincent Macaigne in Médecin de nuit, Benoît Magimel in De son vivant, Pio Marmaï in La Fracture and Pierre Niney in Black Box. Among the most noticed films of the year by the Academy, Lost Illusions, the adaptation of Balzac’s novel by Xavier Giannoli, collected 15 nominations, ahead of Annette by Léo Carax (11 nominations) and the quirky biopic by Valérie Lemercier on Céline Dion Aline (10 nominations). These three feature films are in competition with Bac Nord by Cédric Gimenez, L’Événement by Audrey Diwan, La Fracture by Catherine Corsini and finally Onada, 10,000 nights in the jungle to win the César for best film.

César 2022: when does the ceremony take place?

For the César for best director, the Academy selected four men, Leos Carax, Cédric Jimenez, Xavier Giannoli and Arthur Harari, and three women, Valérie Lemercier, Audrey Diwan and Julia Ducournau, who won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Festival for Titanium. For this ceremony, which will be chaired by screenwriter and director Danièle Thompson, and presented by Antoine de Caunes, voters have chosen from 171 films, released between the reopening of French cinemas, at the end of May 2021, and December 31. .
