“Chad will not intervene in Niger”, says the Chadian Minister of Defense

DAKAR, Aug 4 (Reuters) – Chad will not intervene in Niger after last week’s army-led coup, Chad’s defense minister said on Friday.

This announcement comes after the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) announced that it had drawn up a plan for a possible military intervention in Niger. (Report Mahamat Ramadane, written by Edward McAllister; French version Camille Raynaud)
