Chainlink will not support Ethereum forks

The switch of Ethereum’s consensus mechanism to Proof of Stake (PoS) has sparked discussions within the community. Some miners want to fork off the network, which should continue to run on the energy-intensive Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism. Crypto projects like Chainlink oppose it.

So explained the Oracle infrastructure in a Messagethat split versions of the Ethereum blockchain will no longer be supported. Specifically, it states: “Users should be aware that forked versions of the Ethereum blockchain, including PoW forks, are not supported by the Chainlink protocol.” Indecisive developers and dApps are encouraged to pause their smart contract activities to “avoid unpredictable events and protect end users.”

Within the Ethereum network, Chainlink is one of the leading smart contract infrastructures in the areas of decentralized finance, NFT and gaming. According to estimates by Bank of America, a total volume of more than 60 billion US dollars circulates in the Oracle service.
