Chamber of Commerce – “tutoring” for companies fighting for apprentices

Grocer Hofer welcomed 25 apprentices to Sattledt, and 36 young people started their training at automation specialist Stiwa – September was traditionally the starting month for skilled workers again. This year, 7736 apprenticeship contracts were registered in Upper Austria by the end of September – around 500 fewer than in autumn two years ago. “The 500 young people who are missing are mainly due to Corona – they stayed in the school system and benefited from the fact that there was no sitting down,” says Doris Hummer, President of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
