Champions League: Liverpool overthrow Villarreal and qualify for the final

Villarreal from dream to nightmare. Back up after a dream first period, sanctioned by goals from former Rémois Boulaye Dia (3rd) and Francis Coquelin (41st), the locals exploded in the second half against Liverpool (2-3).

In great danger at the break, the 2019 European champions avoided a “remontada” by striking three times in a quarter of an hour. Well helped by a very uninspired Rulli in the Villarreal cages, Fabinho (62nd), Diaz (67th) and Mané (74th) sealed the victory for the Reds, qualified for a 10th C1 final in their history.

The quest for the historic quadruple of the band to Jürgen Klopp therefore remains very lively. The Reds will face Manchester City or Real Madrid in the final on May 28 at the Stade de France.
