Change iPhone: move with Apple’s iCloud
To create an iCloud backup, go to Settings on your old iPhone, tap your name at the top and select the menu items iCloud such as iCloud backup. With one press of the button Create a backup now a backup is created in the iCloud. If you want to be on the safe side, put it above the button iCloud backup turn the switch. Then the iPhone creates a daily backup in the iCloud. If you want to save your data volume, deactivate the item Backup via mobile data – then the iPhone only loads the backup into the iCloud if there is an existing WiFi connection.
On the new iPhone, select “Apps & Data” from the setup screen Restore from iCloud backup. Apple will ask you to sign in with your Apple ID. Then select under Select backup the backup to be restored from iCloud.
Change iPhone: Backup via Finder or iTunes
An iPhone backup can also be saved on a computer. This has several advantages: You are independent of the Internet connection and you do not have to pay a monthly fee for more storage space. And: after the restore, you don’t have to re-enter your access data on the iPhone – provided the backup is encrypted.
Make sure that you have enough free hard disk space on your computer. Connect the old iPhone to the computer with a cable. If the message Trust this computer? appears or you should enter a code, follow the instructions on the iPhone. On a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15 or higher, open the Finder and select the iPhone under “Places” in the left bar. For older macOS versions and Windows PCs, open iTunes and click the iPhone symbol in the bar at the top. Under General (Finder) respectively overview (iTunes) you will find the backup function. Put in Encrypt local backup check the box and create a secure password. When selecting from the Finder, click on Back up all of your iPhone data on this Mac; this step is not necessary with iTunes. By clicking on Create a backup now a current backup of your iPhone is created on the computer.
To transfer the backup to the new device, select the item on the “Apps & data” screen during setup Recover from a Mac or PC. Connect the iPhone to your computer and start the Finder or iTunes. A window will appear automatically. Choose here Restore from this backup and the backup you want and click on Continue. Enter the password of the encrypted backup and click on OK. After successfully restoring your data, follow the final setup steps on the iPhone.
Change iPhone: banking apps
When moving apps for online banking, there is no uniform solution, as the change from bank to bank is different. As a user of the Sparkassen app, you create a data backup on your old iPhone under ideas, Backup and Create a manual backup now. Transfer them to the new device via the Finder or iTunes, for example. On the new iPhone, download the Sparkassen app from the App Store, log in with your access data and load the backup. If you are using the Sparkasse’s pushTAN app, download it to your new mobile phone and then tap the button below after opening it Set up now. Then choose Request registration data and set up the app. If you wish, you can then have the new access data for the app sent to you by SMS or post. Some other banking apps require a TAN that was sent to the old iPhone. If you no longer have this at hand, you will have to request new access data from your bank.
