Change skin care often – the biggest mistake

You wonder why your skin just doesn't want it the way you do? It's the same for us – and THAT could be the reason!

Our skin is so different – not everything that works for one will work for another. One has dream skin, the other wants it. But how do we get it? We can at least tell you how not to get it and asked Matthias Hauser, Associate Director Scientific Relations at Johnson & Johnson, about the number one skin care mistake.

One of the most common skincare mistakes in my opinion is switching products or brands frequently. The products contain different perfumes, so frequent changes can lead to skin irritations.

So if you cheerfully pick up new products every few weeks because the old ones may not have an effect so quickly or you simply need something new: Let it be! Often, according to Hauser, the wrong skin care is used, that is, care that does not match the season or skin type. Whether and how a care product will affect our skin can usually only be said after 28 days, because the skin renews itself during this period.

Please do not think twice!

Anyone who has difficult skin – for example very oily or sensitive skin – should be particularly careful with frequent changes, as otherwise the skin cannot calm down and cannot adjust to the care. But be careful, Matthias Hauser warns:

Too frequent use of products can over-care for the skin. Impurities, itching or irritation can then be the consequences, especially if your own skin type is not known.

If you don't know your own skin type – whether it's oily, dry, sensitive or normal – you can find out with this test: What skin type are you? Depending on the result, you should choose a care line and routine that exactly suits your skin. This way you can avoid the biggest skin care mistakes and get a lot closer to your dream skin.
