The world of 3D printing is as fascinating as it is complex. Although it has been around for a number of years, this market is still encountering some difficulties in generalizing to a wider audience. However, the Anker brand, usually specialized in chargers, seems determined to launch into the 3D printerswith a Kickstarter under the sign of many promises.

Indeed, the famous Chinese brand has just presented the AnkerMake M5, its very first 3D printer, which aims to compete with the various players already present on this market.

A (very) promising 3D printer

It was yesterday that the Anker brand launched a Kickstarter project to present its 3D printer model to us. And the least we can say is that it is very promising, both for its functions and for its ambitions.

First of all, the AnkerMake M5 will be natively equipped with many functions that are often necessary to add on competing printers. Among these features we find in particular the presence of an integrated webcam. Its role is to allow you to follow your impressions remotely from the corner of your eye, to record videos of your creations in real time, to interrupt a print job in progress or to alert you, if by chance the printer does not produce the expected result, via a notification on your smartphone.

By the brand’s own admission, the AnkerMake M5 would offer default printing 5 times faster than the competition (250 mm/s). Indeed, the speed of printing is precisely, even today, one of the most problematic aspects of 3D printers. With such an argument, Anker could well redistribute the cards in this area. But, obviously, society will still have to prove to us that these many promises can indeed become reality.

In addition to all the functions mentioned above, the AnkerMake M5 will carry with it a touch screen and will have 8 GB of internal storage. Note that it will also be compatible with Alexa and the Google Assistant.

AnkerMake M5 3D printer: prices and availability

Given its many features, it is clear that the printer from the Chinese brand wants to go beyond what is already offered by the competition. But, above all, Anker seems to be seeking to attract a new audience, perhaps more reluctant to 3D printers, in order to expand this market beyond the current niche, without necessarily trying to make it mainstream. .

Anyway, the AnkerMake M5 will be offered at the minimum price of 759 dollars when it is marketed. On the other hand, for people who will support the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, it will be possible to acquire it from 429 dollars (prices vary according to the chosen offer). The first deliveries should be made from November 2022.
