Charles Hoskinson, founder of the Cardano blockchain, announced on October 3rd per tweet announced that the project will soon move to its next phase. It is named after the French philosopher Voltaire. It is considered the last of Cardano’s five major milestones before the IOHK development team puts responsibility for the blockchain in the hands of users. Currently, the project is in its scaling phase called Basho.
With Voltaire, the blockchain should then be managed completely autonomously and decentrally. In addition, a voting system and a treasury structure will be introduced. Hoskinson is certain that Voltaire will “unleash the power of millions of Cardano users and developers”. He wants to “show the rest of the crypto sector how to approach decentralized leadership properly”.
