This is the event! From March 26 to 29, 2023, Charles III and his wife Camilla will be in France for an official visit. Indeed, the new king of England has chosen France for his first state visit. The highlight of this trip will be the dinner organized on Monday March 27, 2023 at the Palace of Versailles. Around him, there will be no less than 200 guests. At 7 p.m., the royal couple will leave the British Embassy, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, where they had taken their place the day before. 30 minutes later, the king and queen consort will arrive in the main courtyard of the Palace of Versailles before crossing the royal gate which will be exceptionally open. They will thus be welcomed by Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron.
The two couples and the guests will then be able to attend a magnificent concert of the royal opera. To please Charles III, the organizers of his trip decided to have him listen to works by British composers such as Henry Purcell, John Blow and George Friedrich Handel. At 8 p.m., the monarch will cross, as Queen Elizabeth II had done before him in 1957, the Queen’s apartments to arrive at the hall of mirrors where a table 50 meters long will be set up.
Charles III will be able to eat in the most services of the Elysée Palace
For the occasion, the finest services from the Elysée Palace will travel to the Palace of Versailles. In effect, Charles III should eat the famous bird service, made by Duplessis in 1758 during the reign of Louis XV. Attentions that should please the father of Prince William and his wife.
