  • A documentary series on the royal families starts on December 19 on W9
  • The first episode is focused on King Charles III

Lovers of dark stories and secrets of royal families can rejoice: the W9 channel offers a new documentary series titled Royal families: secrets and scandals whose different episodes will focus on the British monarchy as well as Prince Albert and his wife, Charlene of Monaco. This December 19, the first episode is themed “Charles, king at last” and therefore looks at the fate of the son of Queen Elizabeth II, became king of the United Kingdom after the death of the latter on September 8, 2022. Throughout his life, Prince Charles stood out for different reasons, and found himself at the center of media attention during his marriage to Diana, his divorce and the latter’s death. But the one who is now King Charles III was well surrounded to endure the various hardships that were on his way.

The documentary of W9 evokes in particular the taste of philosophy of King Charles IIIand “a man who will have an immense influence on him and will become the godfather of prince William“, Laurens van der Post. This British writer of South African origin had a career – now disputed – which credits him as a writer but also as a soldier, farmer, explorer, journalist or even philosopher. He was particularly interested in the analytical psychology of Carl Jung and he had, according to Radio France journalist Anthony Bellanger, a great influence on Charles. “He was a bit taken in by a South African guru who introduced him to a form of creative ecology”. It was therefore very early on that the heir to the throne became interested in the environment and philosophy, two currents that would guide his decisions throughout his life.

King Charles III ahead of his time

Jérôme Carron, journalist at Point de Vue, adds: “Prince Charles, an intellectual, is someone who likes to read, he is someone who likes to learn and understand. And his guru, Laurens van der Post, a kind of ideologue, South African philosopher, l inspired a lot“. After the death of the philosopherhowever, several journalists pointed out the lies and inconsistencies in his career, even going so far as to accuse him of having been guilty of sexual abuse of a 14-year-old child whom he allegedly got pregnant. Dark stories that did not, however, prevent King Charles III from being marked by his relationship with the philosopher. Outraged a passion for culture and current affairs, his ecological commitment which, very early on, made him care about nature and pushed him to take care of it, also shows how far he was able to be ahead of his time in certain areas. So many features that make King Charles III a special member of the royal family, whose W9 program reveals all the secrets.
