Charles III: when was his last Christmas with Meghan and Harry?


King Charles III is preparing to spend his second Christmas as King. He will be, as is the tradition started by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at the Sandringham estate all Christmas week. His wife, Queen Camilla, and he will be notably joined by his eldest son, Prince William, his daughter-in-law, Kate Middletontheir three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte. But it seems that his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his family will not be there to join in the festivities.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to celebrate this special day with their two children at home in California. They will most likely be joined by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. Ingrid Seward, royal author and editor of Majesty Magazinerevealed to the magazine Hello ! that the King could be “relieved” not to spend Christmas with them, because the day tends to be quite “hectic” and that he would only have a short time to give them. The last time that Harry and Meghan celebrated Christmas in the UK back in 2018.

They celebrated Christmas twice with the late Queen at Sandringham – once before their wedding in 2017 and the following year, when the former actress was pregnant with son Archie. In 2019, the couple surprised royal watchers by confirming that they would spend Christmas with the Duchess’s mother. Prince William’s brother had always spent the end-of-year holidays with the royal family, with the exception of 2012 when he was in Afghanistan.
