It is one of family dramas who most marked the Gainsbourg/Birkin clan. The 11th December 2013, Kate Barry has died aged 46 after a fatal fall from the 5th floor of his apartment, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Next December, his whole family will certainly be reunited to pay homage to him on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his death. Waiting for, his stepsisters, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou Doillon, both honored his memory this Saturday, April 8. And for good reason, the photographer would have blown her fifty-sixth candle.

Jane Birkin’s two daughters actually sent her a moving message in their respective Instagram stories. “Happy Birthday ‘Beauty’, we miss you”, wrote in English the youngest, Lou Douillon, in the caption of an archive photo of her missing big sister. For her part, the wife of Yvan Attal shared the photo of a magnificent poem. “For Kate”, she said in a comment. In this work, written by the Irish author James Joyce, we can read in particular: “I wait by the cedar, My sister, my love. The white breast of the dove, My breast will be your bed. The pale dew covers, Like a veil my head. My beautiful, my beautiful dove, get up, get up!”
