Charts Japan: for NieR Automata, it’s always that

This week marks the passage of 3 million box sales for Splatoon 3, still unfazed at the top of the rankings. Remember that counting downloads, the game phenomenon had already achieved a record launch of 3.5 million sales, unparalleled start in the history of Japan.

For a port of a 2017 game that has already sold very well on other platforms, NieR Automata: The End of YoRHa Edition is doing quite well with just over 30,000 copies stamped Switch. Of course, PlatinumGames can expect much more with the highly anticipated Bayonetta 3, which will be released at the end of the month. Underestimated by Square Enix with insufficient stock at launch, Dragon Quest X Offline is slowly regaining color and now exceeds 255,000 copies sold on Switch and PS4.

On the console sales side, it’s a classic week for the Switch (the 62,100 without forcing) but gloomy for the new generation consoles. Still in good shape, the Nintendo console has totaled 3.5 million sales since the beginning of the year, knowing that it passed the 4 million mark last year at the same point.

While we see a marked improvement in the availability of the PS5 in most regions of the world, Japan seems to have to wait its turn with only 5,546 consoles to eat for the week. A halt which also concerns the Xbox Series, whose three-digit score takes us back to the dark hours of the Xbox One.
