Charts Japan: Nintendo Switch Sports, it’s still a success

golden week obliges, Famitsu had closed shop last week but returns to us in great shape and with flattering figures in passing, because these exceptionally accumulate two weeks instead of one. The observation remains the same: Nintendo adds another hit to its collection with its Switch Sports, which already has more than 300,000 copies sold after ten days.

The collection of mini-games is ahead of the still very solid Kirby and the Forgotten World. As announced recently in the results of Nintendo, the latter had 2.65 million copies distributed worldwide as of March 31, thus signing the best launch of the franchise.

For the rest, we are evolving on familiar ground and the next few weeks promise to be rather calm while waiting for the releases of Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles on Switch, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Splatoon 3 which are announced as the main highlights of the summer.

On the console sales side, the main lesson is that the Switch has now surpassed the total sales of Nintendo 3DS, which allows it to comfortably settle on the podium of the best-selling consoles in Japanese history. A position that it will still keep for a while, because the Game Boy (32.5 million) and the Nintendo DS (33 million) will not be caught up so easily.
