Charts USA: the PS5 continues in a sporty month of September

The return to sport began in August with the usual box of Madden NFL 23, to which Electronic Arts now adds that of FIFA 23. Best launch in the history of the franchise with more than 10 million players worldwide, FIFA 23 confirms in passing that the soccer is gaining momentum in the hearts of American gamers. But still, to the point of selling better than NBA 2K23? Well no. The trick lies in the fact that Take-Two Interactive no longer communicates its (numerous) download sales to the NPD people. In fact, the basketball game is probably the real number 1 of the month, a place it also occupies on the PlayStation Store in America.

Like Take-Two Interactive, this ranking does not take into account download sales of Nintendo games. It is therefore solely on the strength of its box sales that Splatoon 3 offers itself this 4th place in the ranking. Solid, The Last of Us Part I completes the top 5 in front of surprising ninja turtles. Good surprise also that the performance of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, whose revival takes advantage of the popularity of the animated series. For the rest, 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man is still in place thanks to its recent release on Steam.

Regarding console sales, the lights are increasingly green for next-gen consoles whose stocks continue to improve significantly, in particular for the PlayStation 5 which finished first for the second month in a row, whether in value and especially in volume. For the month of September, the Switch therefore takes second place in volume (the number of consoles sold) while the Xbox Series occupies second place in value (the money generated by console sales).
